PIPS Unix Developer

Job Title: PIPS Unix Developer
Job Type: Permanent Full-time
Job Location: Ireland

Typical responsibilities include:
" Development and maintenance of Unix scripts
" Integration testing in support of maintenance of the systems interfacing with PIPS
" Production support of the PIPS accounting engine and related systems.
This position may require travel to the US from time to time.
The position may require flexible working hours (for example 10 am to 6pm) and paid 24 X 7 production support will be required.
Experience and Attributes Desired:
The ideal candidate should be educated to degree level and have at lease 3 - 5 years of development experience in the Unix environment, preferably using AIX or Solaris, together with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
Essential:
" UNIX scripting (K shell)
" UNIX commands
" Relational DB experience with some exposure to SQL
" Knowledge of file transfer protocols such as FTP and Cyberfusion and their use to transfer data between different platforms (Unix, IBM m/f, Windows

The following would be an advantage (in order of importance)
" Strong SQL
" PVCS
" Any knowledge of Informatica would be advantageous.
" Any prior experience in Java programming would also be useful
