As a Plant Buyer as a consultant you will manage the supply base for assigned commodity on a daily basis for Purchasing & Supply Management (P&SM).
You are accountable for a purchasing portfolio and the day to day situation work for your commodity to 8 sites in Europe. You support and execute implementation of P&SM supplier strategies. The job has a broad network including contacts within Research & Development Department, Manufacturing, Volvo CE Purchasing, AB Volvo and our suppliers.

Description of employment
•Purchasing portfolio in running production for direct purchased material
•Manage the working relationships with suppliers for the given site in cooperation with other site functions
•Perform the activities required for the portfolio: negotiations in line with the Sub Commodity Teams and to optimize the total cost (Quality, Logistics, Cost, and Manufacturing)
•Reducing lead time from suppliers in cooperation with material planners
•Contribute to the achievement of the P&SM key performing indicators
•Collaboration with P&SM Project Buyers, Commodity Buyers, Supplier Development, etc
•Part of Product Maintenance Team regarding product modifications/cost rationalization
•Contribute, giving input and support to P&SM Sub Commodity Teams regarding Volvo CE supplier strategy

Start date: 2015-04-07
End date: 2015-06-30

This position is a temporary employment for a time period of 3 months (possibility for extension).

•3 years of proven experience in a Purchasing environment
•Strong communication skills and social competence
•Team player
•Creative attitude, energetic and achievement driven
•Commercial and/or technical background
•Business mindset and holistic view
•Knowledge of up to date supply chain strategies and implementation tools
•Working experience in SAP
•Fluent English and Swedish

Education: University Degree or equivalent level of experience
