Platform Unity Engineer

Platform Unity Engineer

Arbetsbeskrivning

How would you like to play a key part in making game development easier for the game teams in Toca Boca and its sister studios?

Central Tech’s goal is to enable developers in making apps that build, run and deploy efficiently on modern mobile platforms (iOS/Android). As Platform Unity Engineer you’ll join the Central Tech team in providing great tooling and services to support best practices with a minimal amount of effort. Your work will help bring our products to our amazing audience of kids all around the world.

What you’ll be doing

Central Tech has multiple libraries and tools that are based on C# and Unity. These are crucial for the game teams to be able to access Central Tech services as well as some third party tools. You’ll be implementing both developer tooling and client facing features in the Unity client, while maintaining and improving current features.

You’ll communicate with other teams that wish to integrate Central Tech services into their projects, and help the team to maintain compatibility across Unity versions.

You’ll take part in feature planning to determine what’s viable and collaborate on the best way to implement something. You’re self-driven and ask questions about things that may affect your work.

You’ll create well documented Unity SDK:s that will be used by the game teams, and write and maintain code in Unity that communicates with native code in Android and iOS.
Is this you?

You’re an experienced Unity Developer with a deep understanding of the architecture of the Unity game engine and editor, and have experience working with Unity outside of immediate game development (for example editor or build tooling, or SDK:s included in games).

You have an understanding of C++ and the native environments on Android (Kotlin/Java) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C).

You communicate effectively with stakeholders, can balance different needs and requests, and are able to drive work processes in general.

You believe in the power of play!

Good to know!

This position is full time and based in our Stockholm studio with a hybrid working model (part office, part working from home). We apply a 6-month probationary period. You’ll need to be located in Sweden as we are unable to support relocation. As we’re an international company, with over 20 nationalities working here, and millions of users all over the world, you need to be fluent in English. Your application should therefore be in English.
