Principal Development Engineer - Operator Analys

Job Description: Purpose of job ------------------------------------------------------------------- Working as a Principal/Senior/Development Engineer, the job's main purpose is to provide a competent level of technical authority and analysis of one or more technical skill areas within the Operator Analysis Team.This includes taking high level technical responsibility within OUR Telecoms for the tasks allocated.The main work area will be analysis of customer requirements and the Specification, Design and Development of Mobile Telecommunications Systems.Key functions ------------------------------------------------------------- Under the guidance of the Operator Analysis Team Manager, the jobholder is expected to perform (but is not limited to) the following tasks: 1.Take high level technical responsibility for tasks within the operator analysis group, to analyse and develop areas of functionality and technologies from the requirements of European Network Operators and other sources and to help support the development of future mobile telecoms technologies and functionality.2.Produce project requirements for the areas of functionality and technologies to be developed within the company.3.To help produce project plans for functionality to be developed within the team.4.To produce high level designs for areas of functionality and technologies being developed within the company and your section. Skills and experience --------------------------------------------------------------- 1.At least 4 years experience in a relevant communication engineering field preferably with experience in Software and wireless mobile terminals engineering.2.Expert knowledge in mobile technology with a bias towards mobile systems and software.3.Ability to estimate project costs and manage systems tasks within defined budgetary and time parameters.4.Experienced in defining strategic plans to meet current and future business objectives for Client development groups.5.The jobholder must have a proven track record in proficient presentation and communication.6.Be an effective communicator able to clearly present complex ideas to large groups both internal and external to the company whilst demonstrating the ability to establish effective communication channels at all levels to maximise business impact.7.Self motivation and ability to work alone, managing own work and setting sensible priorities according to perceived requirements.8.A good understanding of documentation requirements.
