Print Developer IKEA Range & Product Design

Print Developer IKEA Range & Product Design

Arbetsbeskrivning

Design has been at the core of IKEA product development from the early years, and we are proud of our Swedish heritage, where function and beauty work in harmony in every product. Today at IKEA we are on an exciting journey to offer desirable and affordable design, create better products and better homes for many more customers around the world as we continue our expansion, meet new needs and challenges. To support us on this journey we are opening a position for a Print Developer to strengthen our team in Älmhult. As a Print Developer you will contribute to the development of patterns within the total IKEA offer. It is about secure the production and documentation, all according to the set plans within our Range & Design direction.

As a Print Developer you support Product Design Developers, making production-ready repeats, artworks and colourways out of ideas and sketches from designers or studios. The starting point can be a hand painted, unrepeated scan, an old printed textile, an Illustrator repeat or a 15-layer Photoshop file with alfa-channels and everything in between. You will adjust the patterns for various products and materials (e.g. textiles, paper, glass, etc.), you will change colours, repeat sizes, make the repeat flow and ready for production. The work is both creative and technical with a lot of problem solving and will engage all parts of your brain.

You are going to be part of a team of 18 in-house Designers based in Älmhult which might require some long-distance travelling.

If you are having questions regarding the role, please reach out to Eva Lilja Löwenhielm, +46 (0)701 489 873 and regarding the process contact Recruitment Specialist Maria Fröberg Larsson, +46 (0)766 190 996. We look forward to receiving your application, written in English, at the latest August 31st.

Please submit a portfolio of your work either as a link or as a PDF, so that we can get to know your work. Applications with a portfolio are more likely to be considered. We will ask you to show your skills as a part of the recruitment process.
