The SKF group is the world's leading global supplier of products, services and solutions in the area comprising rolling bearings, seals, mechatronics, services and lubrications systems.The Group has around 100 manufacturing sites, and is represented in more than 130 countries.The SKF Group Manufacturing Development Centre in Gothenburgis the central research and development facility for manufacturing processes used in SKF.With 65 employees of various nationalities its role is to reinforce SKF's technical leadership in manufacturing and processing of rolling bearings and related products.We are looking for a Process Engineer New Technologies (Processingenjör - nya teknologier) Sökord: Civilingenjör, Högskoleingenjör, PhD, licentiat, doktor, mekanik, konstruktör, material teknik.SKF Group MDC (Manufacturing Development Centre) has a responsibility for developing new manufacturing processes and equipment for ultimate use in SKF factories distributed worldwide.Accordingly MDC endeavours to keep informed on all new technology developments and how they can be applied to improve production efficiency, quality and performance of SKF products. In the new technologies area we are working on new and novel manufacturing processes and production techniques.Important issues are lower cost, higher flexibility, better precision and added value products.We will look into new areas and new processes that will give SKF a leap in manufacturing development.New technologies are to be developed from an idea phase via laboratory testing, industrialization to pilot implementation work at factory sites.Key Tasks * To interpret the requirements from the factories for translation into projects that will be in line with the SKF strategic direction. * To initiate, define and perform activities and lead projects dealing with new manufacturing processes and equipment in the SKF Group. * To define, realise and test new manufacturing processes. * Execute and analyse tests under laboratory conditions in order to evaluate new techniques and processes. * To work closely with our customers and when needed work in the SKF manufacturing environment during testing and/or implementation of new concepts. * To keep aware of external developments and translate new ideas into opportunities for the SKF Group. * To work with universities, research institutes and suppliers to develop new competence in new manufacturing technologies and design of new manufacturing concepts for the SKF Group.Requirements * University or equivalent technical education preferably in material science or mechanical engineering. * Experience from manufacturing is an advantage. * A self-motivated, proactive team worker with good communication skills. * Experience in leading projects. * Team leading and facilitation skills. * Good ability to speak and write in English; a second or third foreign language is an advantage (e.g.German, French, Spanish). * Willingness to travel and to work abroad on short assignments.We offer A challenging job in an international team of highly qualified engineers with frequent customer contacts, a stimulating work environment and possibilities for professional growth.
