Product Development Engineer
The Product Development & Engineering Center Sweden supports the SKF business with technical product expertise and by developing products for the future. Our aim is to enable new products as well as optimized, application specific variants of already existing ones, to support our customers on their journey towards reliable rotation.
We work in close collaboration with the Product Line Management for Self-Aligning Bearings, with SKF factories globally, Sales & Application Engineering, Research and Technology Development, Manufacturing Engineering as well as Quality and Purchasing. Our cooperation with other design teams across SKF is a key for success and we have a strong focus on growing Engineering capabilities for the future throughout SKF. Digitalization is central in our design processes and we are looking to strengthen our team with someone who can accelerate this further.


Key responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development of new product specifications as well as optimized, application specific variants of already existing products
• Drive activities within the digitalization area to develop future modular design processes, enabling increased speed and quality in the design work while making our offers more visible and transparent
• Run simulations to verify new designs and analyze tolerance settings
• Develop, document and implement design rules that ensures cost efficiency, while understanding the connection to product performance.
• Drive and contribute to Product Development Projects, ranging from Catalogue to Application Specific Offers
• Plan, drive and conduct design requests and engineering tasks
• Drive investigations related to Engineering Changes to support risk assessment and decision making


We expect you to have:
• Master of Science degree in the Engineering field
• Previous working experience from Research and Development/ Application Engineering /Bearing Development/Manufacturing
• Broad technical understanding and interest in the area of machine elements design
• Experience in running simulations/tests and connect analysis to product performance
• Previous experience in tribology and rolling contact analysis
• 3D modeling experience (PTC CREO preferred)
• Proven experience and a good track-record in programming
• Good communication skills with fluency in English
