Arbetsbeskrivning

Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

What’s in it for you?
We are looking for a passionate Digital Product Owner that can lead one of our product teams and deliver outstanding business value. You will join the Sustainability and Product Compliance product cluster within Digital at Volvo Cars. This product cluster delivers digital solutions that support Volvo in leading automotive sustainability innovations, as well as ensure that all our cars are following all market regulations and legislation. We use modern tools and agile methods to create business value continuously. We ensure high quality and adaptability in our delivery. Of course, we have fun together while doing it.

What you’ll do
As a digital product owner, you will maximize value by owning and deciding upon priorities in the digital product team’s backlog from a business perspective to streamline the execution, while maintaining the technical integrity of the features/components for the team. You are the voice of the user; you have a business perspective and some technical know-how.
You will be articulating and consistently emphasizing the short- and long-term vision of the product to the team and relevant stakeholders as well as ensuring increased stability for our products by close collaboration with the operations teams.
You will also be owning, building, prioritizing, deciding, and refining the stories in the Team Backlog including defects and enablers as well as participating in the development of story acceptance criteria and drafting them when feasible.
Involving the team in backlog refinement to achieve minimum handover and maximum joint understanding as well as understanding the scope of the upcoming enabler work, collaborating with the team and architects to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the key technological infrastructures.
We are looking for you who will be validating stories making sure they meet the acceptance criteria, definition of done (DoD), and have the appropriate tests and draft the team’s specific objectives.
You will work according to the Scrum and Safe frameworks; 2-week sprints and 12-week PI-increments. However, we’re not religious about it and are constantly evaluating how to work in the best way, applying common sense to ensure as little waste as possible.
We believe it’s important that you are available to the team and answer their questions as well as participate in the sprint team demo and retrospective (as requested by the team).
You will actively coordinate content dependencies with other Product Owners and clusters.
It is also important that you are continuously developing your own skills and help the team and other Product Owners develop theirs. Participating in cluster discussions and contributing to the program-level vision, roadmap, and content presentations.

Who you are:
You are experienced in driving product strategy and operations as a Product Owner or equivalent role.  You have experience working with new development as well as operations in a product landscape with high demands for stability and data quality.
Experience in facilitating collaboration between teams and management with agile development methodologies. You are excellent at communication, presentation, and relationship-building with teams and global stakeholders.

As a person, we believe that you are user-focused and passionate about solving user problems and you are flexible, open to new ideas and always looking for ways to improve.  We see you are energetic and forward-thinking and you push for innovation and are experienced as a leader.  Last but not least, you have a holistic viewpoint and are value-oriented, with an ability to inspire and motivate others in working towards a goal, and you can communicate in the English language both verbally and in writing.
