Purpose of the role
The transformation towards sustainable mobility drives demand for railway capacity, and we have been the forefront of this journey for decades. To stay in this position, we need to recruit firmware design engineer to our Gate Drive Unit (GDU) team.
The GDU is at the heart of the electrical traction system and controls output voltage to the motors by the use of insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT). The GDU is vital for energy efficient and reliable transportation. The build-up of the GDU consists of dedicated hardware/electronics and FPGA firmware (VHDL). The implemented firmware constitutes of essential and core features concerning the control, supervision of the IGBT’s and communication to other embedded systems.
The purpose of the job is to ensure that the GDU product family is fit for purpose over time and that deliverables from development and maintenance projects fulfil customer needs. Mainly the tasks will be to coordinate with main stakeholders both within and outside of the traction community.


RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead product development activities
• Establish, drive and maintain a GDU product roadmap and ensure its implementation.
• Collaborating in global forums
• Product Ownership over the entire product lifecycle which includes interaction with e.g. electronic manufactures, sub-suppliers, internal stakeholders, cross-collaborations.
REQUIREMENTS
• Education: Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics, Electronics or equivalent.
• Permanent EU work permit
• Experience working with embedded control solutions, including both software(FW/VHDL) and preferably electronics.
• Experience from functional safety (ISO26262, EN50657, IEC61508 or similar is considered an advantage)
• Experience from a similar product owner role related to embedded products, systems based on dedicated electronic design and firmware(VHDL), software implementations is considered an advantage.
• Swedish & English at a fluent level is mandatory for this role.
