We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

Enabling future car technology

The world is changing. How about you?
Would you want to be part of our exciting journey in making people´s lives less complicated and play a key role in enabling the digital transformation of the entire car - then come join our team!

This is what your new colleagues do
At the Core System Platform department, we are building a computer-in-the-car architecture which is key for enabling innovation within areas such as advanced connectivity, machine learning and autonomous drive. Our mission is to create a Vehicle Control Unit platform using new technologies like driveOS and NVidia’s latest chip technology in combination with more traditional car technologies. We are dedicated to deliver platform functions simplifying the application development to create a safe, reliable and secure platform solution within Volvo Cars for increased innovation and speed.

What you will do
As a Product Owner within Core System Platform, you will work with defining the features and solutions building up our platform and act as the quality manager. You will specify and drive features enabling our solutions to be compliant with the highest network security grades in the car industry. You will work together with stakeholders to understand their needs and manage priorities for several teams and architects, acting as their primary stakeholder. Delivering requirements, internal as well as towards suppliers and product evolution will be part of your daily work. You will also maintain a roadmap to ensure the deliveries meet car project needs and share a vision for your domain. The domain you will work in is our secure gateway which acts as the bastion towards the exposed network domain within our future cars.

Who are you?
We want to work with you who have a keen interest in modern network security technologies and want to work in an evolving industry. You like solving problems together with others. You are a customer-oriented person who enjoys being part of a team where you take own initiatives and take pride in your own and the team’s deliveries. We think you have a strong interest for leadership, not only within the technology area but also at leading people even if the role does not include people management responsibilities.

You and your skills
We think you have a broad background within requirements, architecture, and processes around building software. You have probably worked with product definition before, as a Product Owner, Architect or Product Manager.

Naturally, experience and passion for network technologies, network protocols, network security and embedded Linux systems are required to be successful in this position. Since you are Product Owner for a secure network gateway, where you deliver a software platform, previous experience in firewall firmware development and configuration is very valuable. You are also expected to understand and communicate the importance of well-defined interfaces, a customer-oriented focus and clear documentation.
We believe that you are good at explaining complex solutions to others in an easy way. Great written and verbal communications skills are needed, both in Swedish and English.
