The Product Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting the business on product safety related documents; such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels. This role ensures regulatory compliance and supports business goals by providing proactive classification and labeling advice along with critical information to both internal and external customers and other parties.
Main responsibilities
Ensure compliance for portfolio of chemical substances in SAP
Support in work with 3rd party (SAP) to perform necessary updates to ensure most up-to-date information is available in database(s)
Gather necessary data then interpret and classify data aligned with applicable product rules and regulations
Ensures regulatory compliance support to data that generates safety data sheets, labels, and other pertinent hazard communication documentation
Support the harmonization of product safety processes, globally that ensure compliance with Globally Harmonized (GHS) classification and labeling standards
Support in the creation and maintenance of processes and tools that support the daily and long-term needs of the product safety data team.
Hazard Communication and Data Management
Responsible for managing completeness and quality of physical, chemical and toxicological data and assessment for classification of substances and raw materials.
Support in the compiling of product safety relevant documents (such as SDS, labels and transport documents) for a business.
Manages substance and raw material portfolios
Responsible for coordinating the product safety support given to business in respective region in terms of documents and information (e.g. Exposure Scenario’s)
System Maintenance, Project and Process Support
Support in the managing and safeguarding of the development and effectiveness of SAP, in line with the business requirements, with a focus on operational efficiency
The position is responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of systems used to act as internal expert.
Act as lead or support (depending on level of position) in product safety related projects
Responsible for setting up harmonized processes within own area of responsibility
Be an advocate for change management; actively


Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you have the ability to communicate in a professional manner towards all stakeholders and the ability to build successful and long-term relationships. You are confident in your own expertise and deliver results while maintaining a high quality in your work. You also possess the ability to work efficiently as well as independently and you know how to prioritize in your daily work.
We also see that you have:
M.Sc. in chemistry, chemical engineering, and 3 years of experience in similar roles
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. Additional language is an advantage.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal with experience working on teams from multiple locations.
Analytical, good strategic thinking and excellent winning together attitude.
Good knowledge within MS Office, and SAP or similar environment/health/safety management software tool

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Manager Global Product Safety Services and located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
