Production Director Body-in-White

Umeå Plant is one of the Volvo Groups largest plants. With over 1700 employees, we are one of Northern Sweden’s largest industries. We produce cabs to Volvo Trucks, with everything from stamping sheet metal to welding and painting complete cabs. As our Production Director Body-in-White you will have a key role in the on-going transformation of the business. You will manage the Body-in-White organization against set safety, quality, delivery and financial targets. You will be responsible for creating and developing a flexible, high quality and cost efficient process. You will continue the implementation of Volvo Production System (VPS), which means to implement standardized ways of working, develop the organization and achieve contribution from all employees. This position is a very important role in the Umeå Organization. You will be a member of the Plant Management Team, reporting directly to the Vice President & General Manager. You will manage a team of managers which you will be responsible to lead and develop. In total your organization is around 500 employees.


Main activities and responsibilities for this role
Be the driving force to develop the body-in-white process and organization to become a benchmark within our industry
Continue to develop our body-in-white towards proactive way of working
Leading your team to support activities for optimization and stabilization of production facilities in the value flow, as well as all indirect material supply
Be able to lead strategic and organizational development for your function in collaboration with the production functions, as well as other support functions
