Purpose of the role: To work with design teams to develop stable manufacturing processes and ensure rapid and successful ramp up of new products within Cochlear's manufacturing and at sub-contractors. Job description: - Improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes - Comprehensive introduction of new products into manufacturing - Design, develop and introduce robust process solutions to meet business requirements - Create appropriate process documentation to ensure minimal iterations are required and good manufacturability - Process and equipment verification and validation - Understand user requirements, including process, manufacturing, Q & R - Investigating operational problems affecting production - Work with D&D and other departments to produce cost estimates for new designs - Identifying ways to reduce production costs - Identify and implement (including pilot line set up and validation) process solutions to meet requirements - Identify and manage third party "experts" to develop specific process elements - Run pilot production - Identify suppliers for parts and equipment used into manufacturing - Work with suppliers to develop processes - Design jigs and fixtures for manufacturing Personality: We are looking for you who have 4-5 years of working experience and with a university degree. Your key competencies are analytical, conceptual and quality thinking. You are flexible, independent and have a good driving force. You are also competent in good manufacturing practice, documentation and preferably in LEAN manufacturing. Desirable is design experience into Autodesk Inventor.
