We at Outokumpu in Degerfors are searching for a highly motivated production engineer to join our dedicated team in the Hot Rolling Mill. We offer you a broad role with great freedom.
The role as production engineer mainly comprises of close cooperative work together with the department manager, being responsible for the continuous improvement of the department’s production and maintenance processes. You’ll also get the opportunity to develop your leadership skills since the job entails coordinating and leading some of the operators’ daily work.

Your role
Improving safety and working environment within the department
Pursue changes to increase productivity
Identify and reduce product and process deviations
Responsibility for the work area's PIA and planning in consultation with the local Supply Chain Management team
Continuously follow up the department's outcomes regarding safety, productivity, quality, etc. and initiate activities within these areas
Coordinate maintenance tasks together with respective units
Supervise department staff and, in absence of the department manager, take on the role of acting manager
Participate and lead improvement projects with the other Green & Black belts at the site


About you
You have a Bachelor’s degree in production- or manufacturing engineering, or other education/experience we consider relevant
Experience from a similar role is highly valued, so is a previous leadership experience
You are confident using tools and methods for improvement work
You easily build trust and respect between yourself, colleagues, and customers
You thrive in change while guarding safety protocols
Fluency in Swedish and English is required (verbal and written)
