We are looking for a Production Technician for our location in Västerås, Sweden.

YOUR ROLE

Your main responsibility will be to improve manufacturing efficiency through the implementation of competitive and innovative new methods and processes.

RESPONSABILTIES:

1. Project Delivery and Compliance
• Focus on modernisation and train repair projects but will be involved in multiple activities with short and long-term deliveries.
• Ensure project compliance against customer specifications, engineering specifications, drawings and current legislation.
• Create production documentation in paper and digital format to ensure high quality and timely delivery of assigned projects.
• Lead and support process improvement activities using LEAN principles.
• Support the site functions in delivering all its projects safely, on time, to the quality standards set and at a competitive cost.
• Manage and resolve technical queries in a timely manner.
• Undertake project first car production.
• Undertake investigations with site teams, suppliers and customers.
• First point of contact for technical support for Operations, Procurement and Project Management teams.
• Lead and support risk analysis for new projects, new activities and changes in production lines.
• Lead or support smaller business improvement projects within Operations Västerås. This includes planning, cost control, coordination and/or execution of tasks.

2. Project Forecasting
• Create Bills of materials, Create Work Orders.
• Assist with the compiling of bid data.
• Create, implement and monitor plans.
• Create, implement and support project launch documentation.

3. Engineering Design
• Design and implementation of jigs, tooling, stillages.
• Design of material kits required for use by production teams. Implementation of best practices used across the industry.
• Undertake audits to ensure compliance to specifications.
• Support engineering with creation of part numbers and technical support.

4. Reporting
• Monitor and maintain manufacturing documentation.
• Produce work record books and work instructions.
• Create KPIs to manage delivery of methods deliverables and production delivery accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Manufacturing/Production background required.
• Degree in a relevant field valuable but not mandatory.
• Must have served a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent period of practical training.
• Technical knowledge and understanding of rolling stock maintenance and design.
• Experience with maintenance of rail vehicles is highly valued.
• Experienced in using problem solving techniques to investigate technical faults.
• LEAN manufacturing experience and continuous improvement process knowledge highly appreciated.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Good use of MS Office pack.
• Proficient English and Swedish required.
