Arbetsbeskrivning

We are looking for a highly motivated faculty member to join us at the division of Electric Power Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering. Together we will strive to develop innovative, high-quality power electronic solutions for electromobility and renewable power conversion. Our vision is to contribute to societal sustainability by developing innovative methods and technologies via high quality research in a learning-oriented, collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. We constantly encourage individual growth in an open-minded, collaborative, and positive working environment, and look forward to your contribution to the team.

In this position, you will play an important role in strengthening and expanding our research capability in the power electronics area. Your main research tasks will include initiating new strategical research directions; formulating projects and attracting funding; and leading and supporting researchers and doctoral students. The pedagogical tasks include teaching courses on graduate and undergraduate levels, and supervising bachelor and master thesis.

Other important aspects of the position include providing information and communicating about research and current development in the subject area, and collaborating within academia and with society at large.

At the division of Electric Power Engineering, we conduct research within a broad range of topics in electric power technology. Our purpose is to develop interdisciplinary research areas within the university as well as with external partners. Our research is based on a solid theoretical basis and extensive experimental verification in our laboratories as well as in the field. Research activities at the division are organized in two research units: 1) Power Grid and Components and 2) Electrical Machines and Power Electronics.

In the research unit on Electrical Machines and Power Electronics, we are about 30 employees, of which two thirds are PhD students and about 10 seniors and postdocs. Our research activities are conducted towards five directions: (1) electrical machines; (2) PE converters; (3) energy storage; (4) charging technology, and (5) propulsion systems.
