The Mechanical Engineering Service is part of the ILL's Reactor Division and is responsible for the maintenance of the technical equipment associated with the high-flux reactor. Reporting to the Head of Service, you will be responsible for monitoring the manufacture of a number of spare components for the reactor block and will be involved in the updating of regulatory compliance documents for nuclear pressure equipment. In this context, you will work under the supervision of a senior engineer, who is in charge of mechanical manufacturing projects and is also ILL expert for issues relating to nuclear pressure equipment (known as ESPN - Equipements Sous Pression Nucléaires).

Your main tasks will be to:

* Check the component drawings produced by the design office,
* Produce the technical documentation for calls for tender and select manufacturers,
* Produce the manufacturing documentation necessary for conformity assessment by the relevant approved certified body,
* Monitor the manufacturing stages (procurement, machining, inspection, validation, gap analysis, etc.),
* Validate the final acceptance of the equipment.

- Update the regulatory documentation for the nuclear pressure equipment associated with the reactor:
* Review and complete the list of all the ILL's nuclear pressure equipment (ESPN),
* Reassess the condition and thermal and mechanical loading of all ESPN, draft the summary documents for the safety report and verify the coherence of the current ESPN classifications.

In this post, you must be able to assume a high level of autonomy quickly.

Qualifications and experience:
- Level 7 qualification (Master's degree or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or metallurgy, together with at least 5 years' professional experience,
- Knowledge of metalworking and welding (GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG or electron beam), ideally on the aluminium alloy Ag3Net, stainless steel or Zircaloy,
- Experience of manufacturing within a nuclear quality assurance framework
- Knowledge of regulations governing nuclear pressure equipment (ESPN) and of design and construction codes of the type RCC-MRx (or RCC-M) for mechanical components for reactors,
- Excellent writing skills (procedures, technical specifications, compliance with French regulations, etc.),
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and will be required to work with several different actors (workshop staff, suppliers, inspection bodies).
