RISE works with the entire agricultural and food chain and combines knowledge in innovative technologies, systems and products in order to obtain a sustainable food production and consumption.

About us
Product Design at RISE is searching for a Project leader with focus on extraction of food ingredients. The unit consists of 24 colleagues working with technology and design of foods and other biobased materials, assisting industry in with product development and applied research. Topics range from novel plant-based food, 3D-printed food for seniors to materials applications of nano-cellulose and marine biopolymers. We combine expertise in practical experimental activities and test beds, especially https://www.ri.se/sv/test-demo/pilotproduktion-av-livsmedel, with advanced instrumental analysis of food structure, materials science and aroma chemistry.

The role
The role as Project leader includes generating and managing projects together with clients and public partners, especially in the field of extraction and production of functional food ingredients. The role as project leader includes responsibility for the delivery of the technical results of the projects in accordance with budget and time plan. The work also includes practical work in our test and demo facilities especially focusing on protein extraction and separation techniques. It also includes prototype development combined with fundamental understanding of the raw material properties and how the process influences the final product characteristics. All work is conducted in close collaboration with our customers, who range from SMEs to large multinational companies. Part of the work is therefore also on establishing and maintaining a network within food industry. The work is always in close collaboration with other colleagues and competences, within and outside RISE.

Who are you?
You like challenges and look for solutions, and like working together with colleagues and industrial clients. Experience of project management and independent work applying extraction and separation technologies to develop food ingredients is key, particularly previous experience from protein extraction. Experience from the food industry in production or product development is a strong merit as well as an established network within the industry. We think you have master's degree in engineering (or equivalent) and higher education within the field (PhD) is a merit. You should be able to independently plan and perform practical experiments in our test and demo environments and enjoy maintaining and developing customer contacts into new projects.

You are fluent in English, both in writing and verbally, and good knowledge in Swedish is a strong merit.
