Responsibilities


• Ensure that projects initiated by the Programme are planned and executed in-line with the PMO approach and governance
• Ensure that project deliverables meet required quality standards
• Assure quality of all main project documentation such as  Project Definitions, Delivery plans and Budgets
• Facilitate that projects focus on risks and dependencies to other initiatives potentially impacting time, resources, quality and cost of the projects.
• Ensure that business benefits can be realized or that risks inhibiting benefits realization are highlighted.
• Ensure that projects apply project management best practices and standards
• Identify, assess and mitigate programme risks and issues


Skills & Capabilities needed to be successful in this position


• Experience with managing projects from inception to successful implementation
• Strong experience with defining and applying governance to IT projects
• Demonstrate understanding of a project life cycle
• Be seen as an expert resource in the organization on project management
• Ability to negotiate one on one with senior leaders and team members to resolve complex issues
• Ability to form productive networks with internal Stakeholders, Consultants and the Vendor community
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and data management skills
• Ability to identify problems and bring solutions for consideration to the team
• Ability to effectively negotiate and resolve conflict to achieve business results
• Solid research skills and the ability to make informed decisions based on data
• Ability to ascertain communication styles of team members who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
• Ability to motivate and enable others to deliver what they should and on time
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Fluently in English, both written and spoken
