Description
We are searching for a project manager to the material development team at the research center in Karlstad, consumer boards division.

The Material Development unit develops new materials for packaging applications with special focus on cellulose based renewable materials to replace plastics and aluminum. The team also produces demonstrators of the developed materials in its potential applications. Members in the team are working in or managing projects within the whole scope of developing and introducing new material to the market. The team is also a key contact point for external R&D providers in the operational field of the team as well as providing services to other Stora Enso units within the competences of the team.

Your task will be to develop new packaging materials and related production processes with special attention to cellulose based composites, thermoformable packaging materials and bio based barriers. You will manage projects in the area as well as contribute with an in depth technical and scientific knowledge and an understanding of the business potential of your projects and their importance for our success.

You will have the full responsibility to manage your projects to fulfill and deliver on agreed targets within agreed budget frames, time lines and scope definitions. We expect you to actively contribute to our project culture and project excellence.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role you need to have strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work in matrix organizations as well as proven project leadership skills. You have an innovative mindset and find it natural and inspiring to develop and maintain a strong network within Stora Enso, with StoraEnso customers and with external R&D providers. Further you are excellent in marketing and communicating project results as well as do basic business potential assessment of projects. Fluent English, both written and spoken and a willingness to travel are required. Additional languages are considered a merit.

You have an MSc/Civilingenjör in polymer chemistry, chemistry or chemical engineering combined with knowledge and experience of package material development. A PhD in a relevant area is considered a strong merit.
