Project Manager - Surgical Science

Arbetsbeskrivning

Do you want to work with unique products where your daily effort will contribute to saving lives? At Surgical Science you get to work with products that enable surgeons to train without putting patients at risk!

Surgical Science is a leading supplier of simulation software for medical training. Our training systems are used by medical training centers and institutes worldwide for practice, validation, and certification of students, surgeons, and medical doctors.

One major project is the HelpMeSee-project (https://helpmesee.org/) where the mission is to eliminate blindness due to cataracts. We developed and are deploying a highly realistic VR training simulator and training program for eye surgery to achieve this. This is an ongoing, multi-year, long-term effort. There are also multiple projects within laparoscopy, robotic surgery, intelligent ultrasounds, and initiatives towards global standardization within surgical procedures.

We are now looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our development team in Stockholm.

Your role:

As a Project Manager at Surgical Science, you are expected to combine both managerial tasks (recruiting, coaching, etc) but also technical leadership and decisions in a fast-paced, international, and exciting environment. Our customer-facing projects around the globe are focusing on high-end tech where we continuously are pushing the boundaries within graphics and physics.

Key responsibilities:

- Personnel responsibility for up to 10 people
- Management of multiple parallel projects, each with small project teams of up to 6 people
- Your job will require you to work with remote international teams in multiple time zones

You will contribute to the projects as a Scrum Project Owner and be responsible for managing client relationships, developing project scopes, objectives, deadlines, and budgets. The daily tasks consist of planning schedules, resources, resolving issues, and creating documentation. You will also be a part of making our Stockholm office a friendly working environment for the team and a welcoming space for our clients and guests.

Your profile:

To succeed in this role, we believe that you have a background in tech-related businesses and roles, and at least two years of experience in personnel management and in managing software projects with cross-functional teams.

We are looking for a person who takes initiatives, responsibility and likes to work independently. We think you have outstanding organizational skills and multitasking capabilities, as well as a knack for making people feel good at work.

Additionally, we think you have:

- Solid understanding and/or experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies
- Experience working and building relationships with clients
- Great communication skills and fluency in English, verbal and written

It is a huge plus if you have experience with remote international teams in multiple time zones, as well as certifications within scrum and/or Project management.

Nice to haves:

- Technical background
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
