The Project Planning Group at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Project Planning Officer.

Description of directorate/division
The Project Planning Group supports all construction projects with creating, maintaining and tracking an integrated and cost loaded plan. The group works closely with each project management team and other related support functions like Finance Group and the Procurement Division. 

Description of main responsibilities
* Create, manage and maintain planning, cost and schedule for projects in the design and construction phase.
* Ensure that the project plan and the schedule are aligned with the top-level planning.
* Make project forecasts, both schedule and cost.
* Monitor and report project performance and progress through Earned Value Management.
* Support the project managers in the planning and reporting process.
* Manage project risk register.
* Participate in establishing processes for planning, reporting and monitoring projects.
* Participate in other activities performed by the Project Support and Finance Division. 

Qualifications
* Master of Science, Master of Business Administration or other relevant degree/experience.
* Experience of working in a complex (both technical but also organizational) international project environment. Several years experience of project and risk management. 

Experience in the following areas is desirable:
* Earned Value Management methodology or in the Deltech COBRA software. 
* XLPM (PROPS) or PMI - Project Management Methodology
* Primavera P6 (planning software)
* Experience of working in an international environment is essential.
* Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.

Duration & Location
This is a maternity leave cover for 18 months. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.
