The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law is an independent academic institution established in 1984.The purpose of the Institute is to promote research, training and academic education in the fields of human rights and humanitarian law.In fulfilling its mandate, the Institute collaborates with a number of academic institutions and international organisations dealing with human rights and humanitarian law.The Institute organises capacity building programmes for the promotion of human rights standards and democratic values in a number of developing countries with primarily the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).Publication Officer The Raoul Wallenberg Institute is seeking a staff member for our Publication Office.It is a 100% post beginning as soon as possible.The position is a temporary position for six months, with the possibility of renewal.The Raoul Wallenberg Institute has a comprehensive English language publications program in varied formats aimed at disseminating written materials on human rights, democratic values and the rule of law.Books, periodicals and training materials are produced and edited in-house, many of which are published in cooperation with Brill Academic Publisher.The successful candidate will be required to language edit manuscripts and articles using MS Word software for various publications under the supervision of the multiple chief editors.The required working language is English, equivalent to native-speaker level.Requirements: Specialized knowledge of international human rights law, experience in editing international law and human rights publications, native-speaker level English with advanced writing and grammar skills, high degree of proficiency with MS Word including grammatical and formatting tools, working knowledge of legal citation methods.Professional experience in language editing is desirable.The successful candidate will have strong information management and organization skills, a focused independent work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
