QA Engineer Speech Enhancement
Job description
. You work closely together with Skype software developers on various audio modules. Your main focus is to test new algorithms both in real-time and in an offline environment, running the algorithms on multiple audio devices and analyzing the results in Matlab. While some of the work will be manual, you will implement and use automated test environments whenever possible. Initially you will be working with the acoustic echo cancellation, noise reduction and gain control modules but over time the goal is to also test other components. Furthermore, you will act as an interface between bug reports and software developers. Also it will involve the development of a simulation system for echo and other speech degradations with the purpose of improving our speech enhancement/AEC technology
Responsibilities:
. Work closely with software developers and other departments to improve product quality
. Test the audio components on a wide variety of hardware and computer setups
. Identify weaknesses of the product and track those to the responsible audio module
. Design, implement and document an automated, rudimentary test system to assist software developers in their daily work
Pre-requisite knowledge, skills and experience:
. Good understanding of audio and what makes audio sound good
. Very good analytic skills
. Experience of developing and executing tests for real time systems
. You are tech-savy yet can set yourself in end user's position
. You are able to learn and interested in learning new technologies
Big plus if you have:
. Good knowledge of Matlab
. Good knowledge of C/C++
. Experience using at least one shell environment or script language to automate your tasks
. BS degree in CS/EE or equivalent
