Qualified Linux/Unix application engineer

We are looking for a qualified Linux/Unix application engineer.The position Application engineer in Service Delivery Department under Director of Service Delivery. You will manage complete system delivery, integration projects and customer training for the Seamless ERS 360 system.This includes fulfillment of each customer delivery project, proactive and reactive reconfiguration and customization of each system.Additional responsibilities include system implementation, onsite and local training, and customization, fulfilling the terms of each customer's order and support agreement.The role would also include testing of newly installed systems and making sure that the delivery has been accomplished in a qualitative manner. Responsibilities *Manage the rollout of each new system delivery project as it comes from Sales, including unique configuration issues.*Participate the discovery workshop for requirements gathering.*Manage the installation and configuration of each ERS system as customer's needs change.*Provide onsite training to new and upgrading customers.*Conduct and complete the system handover to OPS and MOPS *Develop and master professional knowledge such as OS, database and scripting, *Analyze frequent problems and report to QA/Dev team.*Represent usability concerns in new release planning.*Report working hours, status of assignments on time *Continuously refine and promote delivery routines and services.Mandatory *Demonstrated Linux/Unix working experience and knowledge.*Experience with hardware and peripheral configuration.*Experience in Operating System administration like configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printer systems, fundamentals of security.*TCP/IP knowledge, confident with networking, switches, routers and firewalls.*Confident with databases; has worked in SQL with reports, backups and replication of databases.Understands query optimization and indexes.*SS7 knowledge is preferred.*Experience in scripting in some administrative language (Perl, a shell).*Unix text editor.*Ability to travel to remote locations Desirable *Knowledge of Java is a big plus.*Knowledge of telecom network architecture.*Ability to do minimal debugging and modifications of C programs.*Basic Oracle knowledge/experience highly appreciated.Personal May require a bachelor's degree or similar in computer science and 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related technical area.You are confident with Linux system administration and networking as well as database queries and maintenance.You rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.A certain degree of creativity and independent work is required. You enjoy handling customer requests with frequent customer contact, while multi-tasking large and small projects.
