Raw material buyer Purpose of job *To ensure value for money in the buying of raw materials *To ensure that all site buyers are well informed about the current raw material costs.Also, to assist all production sites with information on raw material costs *To carry out cost comparisons with the objective of containing and reducing costs *Work with the development chemists to enable them to source innovative ingredients but also ensuring that bulk target costs are met *To ensure all databases are kept up to date with current prices Scope of job *Sourcing and negotiating costs for all raw materials used in product formulations *Working closely with all internal plants as well as supporting external plants with costing information *Working with around 250 suppliers and 2000 raw materials *Work on all raw material related projects including CSR, REACh, petroleum replacement etc Main Objectives *Spend money effectively.This means -Identifying areas for saving -Limiting cost increases by preparation & negotiation *Ensuring new contract details are effectively communicated to all sites *Ensuring that 'contract leakage' is minimized & eliminated over time *Working closely with the formulation chemists for sourcing & pricing new ingredients *Give assistance to the NPD teams if there are issues in relation to bulk costs or availability of ingredients *Work with our internal plants to resolve delivery issues and eliminate poorly performing suppliers *Give early warning of any potential problems in the supply of any ingredients *Continue to move away from negotiating with distributors and increasingly negotiating with manufacturers *Work closely with & run the monthly meeting with the chemists testing alternative ingredients *Effective reporting of the tasks carried out Other Objectives *Develop market intelligence sources for benchmarking costs *Work on raw material related projects *Develop skills relevant to the job in order to increase productivity Skills and Knowledge *Minimum 5 years purchasing experience preferably chemically related in the healthcare or food sectors *Ability to work on their own initiative and be strongly results driven *Willing to travel frequently, mainly to Dublin *Needs to be organized, professional and willing to go the extra mile *Enjoys working on projects and being part of a team *Able to communicate easily and all levels internal and external to the company Qualifications *Educated to degree level *Professional qualifications attained or in the process of being attained *Fluent in English Oriflames values - Togetherness - Spirit - Passion This Recruitment is handled by Blatteförmedlingen AB.
