R&D Engineer Combustion & Energy


Description of the position:
You will lead research and development programs through stage gate process towards commercialization and evaluate ideas on technical and commercial merit and propose new technologies and solutions that lead to new development programs
Develop process modelling and kinetics, heat transfer and flow calculations using and adopting internal software tools as well as external when required
In this role you will design and conduct testing or demonstration of application technology in Linde labs or customer facilities and evaluate experimental data and develop scientific and engineering understanding
Further you will report and make recommendations to management as to future directions of development programs and present results to customers and at technical meetings
Identify intellectual property opportunities and prepare invention disclosures is part of your function
Support field demonstrations and commercialization of combustion and/or metals technologies worldwide

You have a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Chemical, Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering (or related discipline)
Industrial R&D experience developing and commercially deploying novel technologies is required
Additionally you have strong fundamental knowledge of process design, unit operations, mass and energy balances, heat transfer, combustion and reaction engineering
Moreover you have experience and ability to work in development projects and small teams as well as strong drive and leadership skills
Excellent interpersonal and written / oral communication skills suit your profile
You have the ability to work in industrial plants, as well the ability to travel up to 20% of the time (domestic and international)
