On behalf of Norstel AB in Norrköping, Sweden we are looking for a R&D Engineer Crystal Growth / Epitaxy /Polishing: Norstel AB manufactures and develops wide bandgap semiconductor materials, including silicon carbide (SiC) wafers and epitaxial layers.In power electronics these materials enable new designs saving energy and improving performance for a wide range of applications such as hybrid cars, mobile phone base stations and radar systems. Norstel was established in February 2005 as a spin-off from silicon wafer manufacturer Okmetic Oyj.The Nordic venture capital companies Eqvitec, Northzone and Creandum are major shareholders.For more information about Norstel please visit their website at www.norstel.com As their new R&D Engineer you will: Develop, implement and document improvements to processes and equipment Analyze key properties of the grown material, and in a practical manner use the results to optimize production processes Utilise simulation techniques to model the processes and increase the speed of the development Plan, carry out and analyse batch experiments designed to improve the quality of the products You will mainly be working in our production area, with modern and highly advanced equipment.The tasks will involve close collaboration with colleagues both inside and outside the company.You have a PhD.degree, with solid skills in material sciences.We value skills in semiconductor physics and measurement technology.You must be confident speaking and writing English.Relevant work experience from industry or university is important.Related industry experience especially in the areas of crystal growth of compound semiconductor materials would be highly valued.Relevant epitaxy experience would also be beneficial.You are a well organized, analytical, enthusiastic and driving person who finds it easy to communicate.You have an innovative mind and are constantly seeking to find new solutions which integrate existing know-how.You should be comfortable bringing new ideas to the table in a good team working spirit.You have to be an analytic problem solver who enjoys working in cross-functional teams.
