Within the group of Electrical Machines & Intelligent Motion in the Power Technology department of Corporate Research, one of the main focuses is to work with electro-magnetic and related thermal and mechanical design innovations of rotating electrical machines. We improve existing products and develop, model and simulate new solutions and tools for the Business area Machines

Excellent competence in electrical machines, as well as in modeling and simulation in general, is essential. A minor in physics (magnetics, thermal, mechanics) and/or mathematics and an interest in power electronic circuits are desired. A Ph.D. in electrical machines or equivalent experience is a considerable merit. Some professional experience in one of the mentioned areas is an advantage. You are action oriented, analytical, and innovative. The close collaboration with the R&D departments of ABB Business Areas requires you to be proficient in English, a team player, and an effective communicator.
