Diab Group are now looking for a R&D Engineer, to join the team at the site in Laholm, Sweden. The position
As a R&D engineer you will work with process and product development on our IPN foam of crosslinked PVC and polyurea. Your tasks will include planning and testing of process conditions, especially in pilot-scale production, but also in full-scale production. Furthermore, you will assist in product development projects. You will use your analytical skills to interpret and evaluate complex test results and to document these in technical reports. You will become involved in continuous improvement projects. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative technical team and cooperate with colleagues in all countries were Diab is present.

Key responsibilities


• Plan, perform and report pilot-scale trials
• Arrange and analyze full-scale trials
• Polymer characterization by, e.g. DCS, DMA, FTIR and mechanical characterization
• Take part in investment projects and assist in new product development projects
• Support within customer and production questions
• Take part in documenting machine improvements and process specifications

 In this role you will report to our Group R&D Manager.

Your Profile

You are eager to dig into challenging development projects in an international environment. In your ideal work, you employ both your theoretical knowledge and understanding as well as your practical skills to reach your targets. An analytical mindset and passion for problem solving are valued attributes. You are a team player, but not afraid to take initiatives. In your role, you both gather and share knowledge and expertise with your co-workers through training and networking.

We think you have:


• Master’s degree in chemical, polymer, material or similar
• Newly graduated or up to 3 years’ experience from plastics and/or materials industry
• Good understanding of polymer properties and characterisation, e.g. rheology, spectroscopic and thermal techniques
• Interest in data evaluation and method like Six sigma, Minitab, DMAIC or Similar
• Fluent in English
• Proficient skills in relevant computer programmes
