R&D Technician - Hard Materials

R&D Technician - Hard Materials

Arbetsbeskrivning

Being a leading supplier of equipment, tools, services, support and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries requires commitment. At Sandvik Mining and
Rock Solutions, we aim to develop solutions that provide our customers in every corner of the world with the best overall experience. This also applies to our people – the bearers of innovation and culture. Come join our exciting world!
At Rock Tools Hard Materials R&D, our researchers and technicians work closely together with Sandvik Coromant to develop new hard materials. This team is now looking for an R&D Technician with a technical process mindset – an excellent opportunity to be a part of exciting development projects and work with cutting-edge technology at an industry leader!

Your mission
As our R&D Technician, you act as a bridge between the researchers and the lab – creating prototypes and researching new materials, as well as developing new solutions to be implemented in our future products. You work on assignments provided by our researchers in close collaboration with the production side. You independently prioritize, plan and execute standardized testing tasks, and as you’re responsible for equipment and methods within your area, you’re writing standard operating procedures. With a lot of self-responsibility, you solve the most commonly occurring problems without significant supervision. You get to work in the center of our operations and learn different methods from our competent R&D teams. As you work according to standard operating procedures and instructions, you write reports of results in English.
The location for this position is Västberga, Stockholm.
Your character
We’re looking for someone with at least a high school diploma in the technical field. Experience from quality control, laboratory work, chemical processes or material work is advantageous. As we run in a global setting, you have good English skills, both written and verbal, and for this position, we also expect you to understand and talk Swedish.
We place great value on your personal qualities! You’re a self-driven team player with a service-minded attitude who enjoys working in a small-scale laboratory production where you have the chance to learn and grow. You work equally well independently as in a team environment, and with your structured and thorough, yet flexible ways of working, you show great attention to detail – ensuring quality and adherence to routines and working properly with documentation.
