At Findus/Nomad foods, we want to serve the world with better food and make it easy for everyone to succeed with tasty, healthy and sustainable dinners. To do that, we need to expand our Nordic RDQ- team with a business oriented and entrepreneurial RDQ Manager to work in the Nordic market. RDQ is short for Research, Development and Quality and these are the areas you will work within to move our function forward.

The RDQ Manager for the Nordic market will be based at our Malmö office and work in close partnership with the Nordic RDQ team as well as our factories, Marketing, Sales, Supply chain and Procurement and Nomad Foods central functions. It’s a significant role in the organization and a chance to be a part of building our Nordic RDQ department.

To thrive in this role, you’d need to enjoy having a wide range of tasks and accountabilities; hands on product and quality testing, drive local innovation pipeline, making annual plans and legal & risk responsibility for our products, to name a few. You will be a part of a passionate team with long experience within R&D /Quality, and there’s plenty of paths to go within the business. To be suitable, it’s essential that you have a degree within food science/engineering and a minimum of 3 years of experience from the food & beverage industry. The RDQ Manager doesn’t have any direct reports today but as we see the organization growing, this might change in the future. Being a team player with strong communication skills is crucial, and previous experience with leading others is highly appreciated.

You will report to the Regional Head of RDQ Nordics and have colleagues based in Malmö, Norway and rest of Europe.

These will be some of your tasks and responsibilities:

- Together with the other Nordic RDQ Managers & team, be accountable for risk, quality and legality for all products sold in the Nordic region
- Provide leadership for the region, setting work annual plan goals and development plans.
- Manage and deliver the local pipeline of innovation, renovation and fuel for growth.
- Point of contact for food authorities and other stakeholders
- Ensure product & ingredient specifications are fully compliant & audit ready
- Train the Consumer Service team to build knowledge about the products.
- Collaborate with the NFE legal & regulatory manager and/or external legal counsel where required.
- Ensure that all new developments are consistent with the CSR strategy and Nutritional targets
- In case of an incident in the region, take a leading role in the Incident Management Team and make sure regulatory and technical aspects are respected in the decisions and actions.


All of the tasks above will be performed in cooperation with your colleagues in the Nordics.

Formal and personal qualifications:

- Degree level in a technical subject, eg Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Physics or Nutritional sciences
- At least 3+ years’ experience within the Food & Drink industry in a Technical/Quality/Product Development role
- Proficient in English. Knowledge of any nordic language and especially of Finnish language/market is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the Nordic culture, markets, media and local languages
- Strong communication and people skills
- Strong business focus and entrepreneurial mindset
- Eager to anticipate consumer behavior and to work in a commercial environment




It’s a plus if you have..

- A track record of either successful innovation within food or a leading role in food quality management.
- Experience of either concept development & rapid prototyping or delivering Quality Improvement Programmes with suppliers.
- Basic understanding of the role of Intellectual property (patents, exclusivity, know-how and trade secrets) to generate competitive advantage
- Succesful track record of leading others
