Description
IM works in six regions, including Middle East, all over the world together with partners to strengthen democracy and to promote absolute equality. In each region we have regional office with the role of enabler, connecter and catalyst for societal change based on a strong partner ecosystem and contextual respect and knowledge. We base our work on a rights-based approach and we work with Social Inclusion, Economic Inclusion, Capacity of Civil Society and Enabling Space for Civil Society.


Your role
As Regional Director we want you to coach and motivate the team to drive the development towards societal change in the Middle East. It is your responsibility to promote a conducive work environment and a culture of innovation. Your leadership is guided by the values and principles of IM and consistent with our strategic positions. You encourage and support your team members to live and embrace IM’s organizational culture, values and working principles (Growth mindset, Simplicity and a Trust-based leadership). You are also responsible for the human resource development of the staff in the Middle East and the health, safety and security of the staff. You will report to Head of Global Operation who is based in the Swedish Head Office.


Your profile

Requirements:
Leadership
o Strong Leadership skills where leading through self-leadership comes naturally. Important elements of the Leadership style that we prefer is leading through values, a growth mindset, building trust, have situations-based approach with high integrity. Knowing how to build a feedback culture within your team.
Knowledge & skills
o Understanding the context of the Middle East and the conflict with Israel & Palestine
o Skills in Advocacy
o Understand and know how to navigate development questions within our space

o Strategic

Additional information
Placement: Based in Amman, Jordan with frequent travels to Palestine
Extent: Two-year contract with possibility of extension
