Release Engineer – Stockholm, Sweden

As a Release Engineer you will be part of a fully empowered, autonomous and cross-functional team that create software deliveries as business solutions to our end consumers, customers and users. You will work with multiple development teams that deliver product increments using agile methodologies in sprints in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
In this role you will consult with Delivery and Product Managers, Solutions Leads, Scrum Masters, Lead Developers and Product Owners among other stakeholders to enable successful continuous delivery. You will be based in our Stockholm office, however you will work with colleagues remotely that are based in other countries. Occasional travel within Europe is anticipated.
A regular day at work:
• Create and own release schedules through collaboration with product teams
• Execute successful release of our software solutions to our Live Environments by coordinating with our various development teams
• Effectively communicate release content to your stakeholders by gathering business requirements and user stories that were or will be deployed by the different development teams in your release window
• Ensure all due-diligence is passed such as approvals, gathering of test results and resource availability as a preparation for a successful release
• For large project and rollout releases you will create detailed task level plan covering multiple development teams, master data, integrations and security to successfully enable a market/ country on the new platforms
• You will create, manage and execute technical cutover activities as per your release schedules
• Manage cross-team dependencies
• Provide inputs to enable resource planning in advance taking into consideration skills needed in order to secure a smooth delivery as well as enable quick decisions around resource allocation
• Proactively act to mitigate risks and blockers, communicate and influence decisions by sharing alternatives at the program forums
• Support our transformation journey by continuously look for improvement related to ways of working
• Join workshops and take ownership for implementing continuous improvements initiatives

Who you are:

Education & experience:
• Bachelor’s degree on any academic discipline with strong passion for Software Development lifecycle.
• 1-2 years of project management or continuous improvement experience.
• Stakeholder management, especially in multicultural teams.
• Experience in writing good technical documentation
It is preferred:
• Preferably have a background as developer
• Experience managing projects or software delivery teams with both agile and waterfall releases
• Experience with managing resources and cross-team conflicts
• Understanding of best practices of market such as Lean, Agile, SAFe framework and product teams
• Knowledge around hybrid cloud environment
• Preferably have experience with SAP Consumer Experience products such as SAP Sales, Service Cloud, Artificial Intelligence and chat bots
