The Laboratory of Radiation Biology is a cancer research department within
the Oncology Clinic, The Finsencenter, at Copenhagen University
Hospital/Rigshospitalet situated in the centre of Copenhagen.The general
objective of the department is to study molecular and phenotypic features
of lung cancer and brain tumours.In particular, growth factor receptor
studies are of interest.The primary aim is to generate more insight into
the influence of growth factors and their receptors on the malignant
phenotype, and the secondary aim to extend that knowledge to the clinic.
This implies testing potential new diagnostic and prognostic tools, as
well as suggesting new translational treatment modalities, targeting
therapies and inhibition of signal transduction.
Challenges
We are now seeking a candidate who is self-motivated and focused to join a
highly interactive research team.To establish and optimise
immunohistochemistry at the laboratory, with specific focus on detecting
phosphorylated proteins, is a big challenge in this position, and thus
previous experience from immunohistochemistry and tissue treatment is
necessary.Knowledge of cutting tissue is an advantage but not mandatory.
You will be responsible for optimising the technique and tissue handling
to obtain optimal result for detecting proteins both in experimental
xenografts as well as in tumour specimens from patients with brain tumours
and lung cancer.The job offers a great opportunity to influence your

Qualifications
We believe that you have a background as laboratory engineer or Master of
Science in biology/molecular biology and a genuine interest in research.
Previous experience from independent laboratory work is required, along
with a creative mind and good collaborative and communication skills.The
position will start as a temporary employment for one year beginning as
soon as possible.Salary and conditions of employment will be according to
the agreement for Copenhagen University Hospital.
