Research Coordinator

Research Coordinator

SLU is recruiting a Research Coordinator to support research and internationalisation at the university. The ideal candidate is driven with excellent interpersonal skills and experienced in research funding, and project and process management. You will be working with important societal challenges in collaboration with researchers, public authorities and businesses. You will work across the whole university, and will ideally be based at SLU’s Alnarp campus. The position is within the Grants Office that is part of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

As a Research Coordinator, you will support researchers with large and complex funding applications. You will work with teams and individuals to develop concepts, establish impact, form strong partnerships, plan effective project implementation and quality control. Together with researchers, you will coordinate the writing of large grant applications and occasionally write parts of applications yourself. You will be working on several processes/proposals in parallel.

You have a university degree and substantial experience in writing international research grant applications and from international collaboration. Project management experience from large international projects such as EU projects, or experience from working with research support services or in research funding agencies, would be an advantage. Knowledge of strategic communication, e.g. as a science writer, would also be an advantage, as would a doctoral degree and experience from assessing grant applications.

You must be fluent in English and it would be advantageous to have knowledge of other European languages. Knowledge of Swedish is not a requirement, but the SLU language guidelines require staff to acquire basic Swedish skills if employed for more than four years.

As a person, you are communicative and express yourself well in both spoken and written communication. Good leadership and interpersonal skills are essential. You have the ability to motivate, are a good team player and have a strong commitment to research and development. Personal aptitude will be taken into account during the selection process.
