Research Scientist We are seeking an experienced and motivated scientist who will support our early drug discovery projects.The Company Actar AB is a drug discovery company with an important role in the Innovation System at Karolinska Institutet.Actar discover and develop new innovative medicines based on ground breaking research from leading universities.Our research is currently focused on cancer, CNS-diseases and the discovery of novel antibacterial medicines.To our biology laboratory in Solna, we are now seeking a research scientist for a 12-months assignment.The position is available immediately.The Role We are seeking an experienced biologist who will support several of our early drug discovery projects.You should be a keen experimentalist with strong interest in laboratory work and applied science.Your primary role will be to establish novel drug discovery projects with responsibilities including target validation, development and implementation of biochemical/cell based screening assays to test small compounds.You will also be engaged in the evaluation of new projects by assemble, interpret and present research results from advanced in vitro- and in vivo models performed in house or by external collaborators.Qualifications The successful candidate should hold a PhD or have equivalent experience in a relevant subject and have broad technical skills in areas such as cell- and molecular biology, pharmacology and ADME-tox.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary and complex team setting will be essential.Experience of drug discovery in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be an added advantage.
