Research scientist

A position as research scientist is currently open with NovaHep AB (www.novahep.com) at Karolinska Science Park in Huddinge.The successful candidate is to work in a project aiming at establishing expandable hepatocyte-like cell lines using fetal hepatic stem cells or adult hepatocytes as starting material.We are looking for a highly motivated and independent cell/stem cell biologist who will work on the characterization of human fetal liver stem cells, their progeny and cell lines derived thereof.Expertise in isolation and culture of primary cell lines is a must, as is familiarity with cell biological methods used to assess cell proliferation, apoptosis, and phenotypic as well as functional characteristics of hepatocytes.These methods may be morphologic (immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy and flow cytometry) as well as molecular (SDS-PAGE and Western blotting, real-time PCR).Knowledge in molecular biology techniques such as subcloning, transfections and expression analysis is an advantage.NovaHep develops hepatocyte-like cell lines for drug toxicity testing, extracorporeal blood detoxification and eventually cell therapy.We are working in a creative environment located in recently renovated labs in Karolinska Science Park in Huddinge; labs we share with AbSorber AB and Recopharma AB.
