Our Exciting Opportunity
We are looking for creative researchers to engage in developing current and future mobile networks' generations, used by billions of people. This opportunity is to join our Ericsson Research team working with the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) in Core Networks, driving Ericsson’s strategies in 5G/6G standardization!
The standardisation area 3GPP SA6 handles application enablement and critical communication applications for vertical markets with the main objective to provide an application layer architecture specification, such as mission critical services for public safety, service frameworks, and enablers for automotive and smart factory applications.

This position will be based in Lund, Sweden, as part of the Cloud Systems and Platforms group, reporting to the Research Leader.
You will
Act as a delegate and/or back-office researcher, working with contributions for 3GPP standardization meetings
Define and test service APIs and interfaces
Perform pre-studies and experiments resulting in standards contributions
Create new technical solutions, protecting them with Intellectual Property Rights
Represent Ericsson externally in standardization, university collaborations, and customer meetings


To be successful in the role you must have
Ph.D. or MSc. degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field
Experience in working with 3GPP standardization and API development
Outstanding collaboration, communication, and innovation skills
Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken
Analytical thinking combined with a healthy dose of creativity

A strong background in the Core Network, especially in network exposure capabilities and service/application layer aspects is considered an asset.
