Resident Team Leader – Body & Security

Mecel is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delphi Corporation. Mecel plays an active and strategic role in Delphi Electronics and Safety’s global product innovation, development, and execution.

Delphi has moved the systems and software development of our Active Safety products for Scandinavian and non-German customers to our site in Sweden (hardware development is in the United States, and manufacturing in Europe). In some cases, we are the lead site launching a product; for others, we are a follow-on to a launch led from one of other global sites.


Job description:
Delphi develops our Body & Security products at other sites in Europe, primarily Germany and Poland. For our specific applications to customers in Scandinavia, we have residents to support the project. Residents sit at the customer site and act as a liason between Delphi and our customers, working across mechanical, electrical, and software competencies to develop requirements, update products, perform and/or support testing and expeditions, and improve communication. As we have multiple projects in the Body & Security, we are looking for an individual who will both act as a resident, as well as be the team leader for a small (3-5) person team. The team leader will sit at the primary customer location and will be the first escalation point for the customer for support. The team leader will be responsible to balance resources across the projects and work with management to secure extra needed support


Competence – required:
• BSc or MSc D/IT/F/E/Z or corresponding education
• 5+ years of experience as a software, electrical, mechanical, or systems engineer, including significant customer interaction
• Good understanding in the development work, preferable in embedded systems, and agile methods. Good knowledge of quality norms and work according to SPICE
• Knowledge of the automotive and/or truck business in general and in particular working within safety, body, infotainment, powertrain, and/or chassis systems
• Knowledge of radar, vision, and fusion technologies in automotive applications
• Knowledge of communication protocols and tools; e.g. CAN, LIN, MOST, FlexRay, Bluetooth, and/or Ethernet
• Knowledge of diagnostics
• Excellent customer relationship management background; mature and stable demeanor
• Fluency in English


Competence – preferred:
• Knowledge in AutoSAR
• Preference shown to candidates with fluent Swedish and additional language skills are a benefit, particularly German or Polish


Experience from the following areas are desirable:
• Resident Engineering for Automotive or Truck OEM
• Team and/or Project Leadership
• Systems Engineering, or Software engineering
• Requirement tools e.g. Doors
• Model based development and tools e.g. Matlab/Simulink, UML or dSpace
