What about the role?
As our business grows, diversifies, and scales across European markets we are looking for a Risk Management Director to lead our first line operational Risk Management function. Your key objective is to enable Hedvig to make the right decisions with risks in mind and thereby enable us to achieve our strategic objectives.
As Risk Management Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that Hedvig’s processes for managing risks are optimized to support rapid scaling while maintaining a high degree of confidence in our own compliance and risk management. In your role, you are also expected to effectively manage risks and compliance activities across the organization. To this end, leadership skills, stellar stakeholder management, and having a hands-on approach will be paramount to your success.
Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing Hedvig’s risk management system and framework to enable our business to manage and identify risks, thereby enabling us to achieve our strategic objectives. Monitoring and reporting of risks in relation to the risk appetite set by the senior leadership team and board of directors. Supporting and guiding the business in strategic business decisions from a risk perspective. Driving integration of risk management in the organization enabling first-line operators to make fast and good quality business decisions, based on correct information and assessment of risks.
What about you?
You are an ambitious person with a strong drive that can help us identify and manage risks by building relationships, collecting opportunities, and implementing solutions
Some years of experience within risk management (preferably at a hyper-growth business/fintech)
Extensive regulatory knowledge (a general insurance background would be our preference) as well as an excellent working knowledge of regulation matters
Demonstrable understanding of risk and controls management, including enterprise risk management frameworks
Straightforward communication approach to be able to translate regulations and provide concise advice relevant to the entire organization
Excellent Swedish and English language skills
Good understanding of Data Protection regulations and third-party supplier/outsourcing arrangements
