Risk Manager

The department Business Risk within Staff Function Risk Management is looking for a Risk Manager.
SF Risk Management has the overarching responsibility and is accountable for the risk management framework within Vattenfall as second line of defense. This includes securing risk governance in Vattenfall, the coordination and safeguarding of risk control and providing transparency of Vattenfall's risk positions, as well as decision making support for the Business and top management. The Business Risk team provides independent oversight by delivering an independent second opinion on the business`s risk profiles and risk management methodologies and activities. This includes challenging and coaching business in risk governance, risk identification, risk assessment and risk response activities as well as risk reporting. Also, steering and controlling efficient risk culture both within business and staff functions is key: by sharing best practices, setting-up Group-wide risk networks etc. The role involves working closely with both senior management and risk experts within the business.


Main tasks and responsibilities
• Challenge and coach the Business/SF in risk identification, evaluation and risk response strategies
• Review risks reported by the Business/SF to ensure a reasonably comprehensive risk picture with adequate risk response actions identified (completeness- and quality check)
• Challenge business on its management of risks
• Steering and controlling efficient risk culture both within Business and SFDrive continuous improvement to increase risk awareness throughout the organization and provide guidance on best practice .
• Provide guidance to senior management on business risk management practices.
• Contribute to the Group Risk Report to EGM and BoD
• Ensure cross organizational or external learnings are captured in the organization’s risk profile.
• Build a network of contacts throughout the organization
• Liaise and coordinate with Group Internal Audit
• This position reports to the Head of Business Risk.


Required Experience and Qualifications:
• Strong academic background in engineering, science, finance or economics. A combined degree with both technical and economic modules is an advantage
• Knowledge of energy markets and energy value chain preferred
• Knowledge of risk management practices and/or strategy is an advantage
• A curious and analytical mind with the ability to think out of the box.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with commercial and technical colleagues as well as executive management alike
• Excellent analytical skills with a good business sense and an international mindset
• Strong team approach with high motivation, flexibility, humor and drive
• Fluent in Swedish and English


Location: Solna


Travels: This positions requires traveling to other European VF offices
