SAAB Automobile AB is a world wide operating premium car manufacturer and is embedded in General Motors Europe organization.General Motors R & D is expanding via 8 Global Science Offices including one in Sweden.The Swedish Science Office is a part of Saab Automobile/General Motors Europe.The GM Science & Technology Office in Trollhättan is now looking for a Science Office Manager The Science & Technology Office coordinates all advanced technology projects within GM Powertrain Sweden and Saab Automobile which involve government funded programs.In this capacity there is close communication with the respective advanced engineering groups.The position: As a Science Office Manager you will develop understanding of capability of local universities, suppliers and other collaborative partners meaning identify capabilities best suited to meet GM R&D research needs.The position also includes work with GM R&D researchers & GM Sweden Chief Science & Technology Officer to understand research needs.As a Science Office Manager you manage leverage opportunities available for specific research areas.You will also work to strategically build in-country capability and leverage opportunities driven by longer-tern R&D strategic technology needs.Qualifications: You should have a Master degree in technical education.It is a merit if you have a couple of years experience from the automotive industry.You should have a strong verbal and written communication skills and command of both Swedish and English language.You must be able to work independently, with responsibility and like to work in a multicultural environment.You are out-going, sociable, interested in technology, can communicate with researchers in both academia and industry alike and have exceptional capabilities in network/relationship building.The work includes traveling therefore you must be able to travel internationally for periods of 2-3 weeks quarterly and within Sweden for periods of 2-3 days during a week when visiting universities, institutions and companies.The position is temporary during 2 years starting early January 2008 until the end of December 2009.Are you the one we are looking for?Mark you application with the reference number 294-1406.
