We are looking for a Fast Trak scientist with focus on analytical techniques to join our Fast Trak team, a global organization within Cytiva that works to support our customers in the biopharma industry. As Fast Trak scientist, you will be part of the Fast Trak EMEA team based out of Uppsala, Sweden. We are a dynamic and customer-facing team with great opportunities to develop and grow through a broad variety of process development services for various biomolecules as well as training courses supporting the EMEA biopharma industry. What you’ll do


As a Fast Trak scientist focusing on analytical techniques, you will be coordinating analytical activities, working directly with our customers in a dynamic and collaborative environment, acting as subject matter expert for analytics. You will also actively work with mid or downstream parts of bioprocessing.
You will take the role as an analytical expert, contributing with the analytical angle in discussions directly with the customer, develop and/or transfer analytical methods and perform analytical assays during projects. You will work proactively to contributing to process development projects with creative ideas on how to best solve challenges using analytical assays already in place or proposing the implementation of new ones.
The work includes conducting independent scientific work on various customer process development projects with monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, recombinant proteins, plasmids etc., including both administrative and laboratory work, both for analytics and bioprocessing.
The role can also include delivering training courses for customers, theoretical as well as practical, in the field of biomanufacturing.
To effectively perform the job, you will develop and nurture your internal network within the local and Fast Trak global scientific teams while also securing a creative environment in the customer projects to support and identify successful and scalable solutions for their biomanufacturing processes.

Who you are


MSc in biotechnology, bioprocess/biomedical engineering or related life sciences field.
Preferably 3+ years of experience working with analytical methods for biologics including HPLC/UPLC methods (e.g., SEC, IEX, RPC, protein A), PCR, electrophoresis and ELISA/SPR methods.
Experience of downstream bioprocessing.
Experience from analytical method development and/or SOP set up and method validation, QC and/or release testing, upstream related analytics, and equipment (metabolite analyzer, cell counting etc.).
Experience from various application areas such as mAbs, vaccines, recombinant proteins, plasmids etc. – both from the analytical perspective and from downstream bioprocessing.
Strong presentation and communication skills as well as advanced English skills (oral and writing).
A valid EU work permit is required for this role.
Preferably you also have industrial experience in up- or downstream processing of biomolecules or viral vectors and understanding of FDA/EMEA regulations for biologics (Phase I-II and commercial) as well as prior teaching and/or presentation experience with scientific material.
