Scientist I – In-Situ

Scientist I – In-Situ

Arbetsbeskrivning

‘In Situ’ is the “new” buzzword in Spatial Biology research. In situ analysis of hundreds of genes in all individual cells within intact tissue samples is going to be a major game changer for biology research, medicine and the future of diagnostics.
Our R&D team in Stockholm, Sweden:
You will be working within a great team of about 25 people in Stockholm which continues to grow rapidly. Everybody is motivated to work together for researching and developing the next generation of in situ analysis technology in a highly interdisciplinary environment. Collaboratively working with expert scientists within spatial transcriptomics and single cell analysis.
This gives you the possibility to participate in high profile cutting edge biological and disease-related research projects.
What you will be doing:
Design and develop new in situ analysis methodology
Work in a highly interdisciplinary environment focused on developing in situ analysis techniques
Fluorescence microscopy and image data processing
Designing oligonucleotide sequences, testing and tuning their performance
Support downstream analysis of image and in situ data

To be successful, you will need:
A PhD degree, in Biomedical sciences / Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Biophysics or similar field
Or an equivalent background (e.g. Master degree with a least 3 years of industry experience in the above mentioned areas)
Proven track record in development of in situ hybridization techniques or spatial transcriptomics techniques or similar techniques (i.e. microarray technology)
Fluorescent microscopy experience (confocal or standard epi-fluorescence)
Experience in primer/probe oligonucleotide sequence design
Manage technical challenges independently
To be able to work in an interdisciplinary environment
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English)

It would be advantageous if you had:
Experience with in situ protein analysis
Experience in Image analysis
Experience in a wide range of Molecular Biology techniques (ie. PCR/qRT-PCR, Gel electrophoresis, arrays, etc.)
