Job Description & Responsibilities:

This person will support development to ensure that all team members can accomplish their objectives within SCM guidelines. They will accomplish this by:

Be part of the SCM organization at Volvo Cars IT and actively help out in the maintaining and enhancing the existing SCM solution.
Ensure and facilitate that the SCM Tools are used in a proper manner and consistent with Volvo Cars practices and policies.
Ensure that all SCM aspects of the development environment work reliably, including code branching, merging, releases, development, test and builds.
Document all aspects of the SCM processes and tools such SCM plan.
Educate team members to guarantee a collaborative relationship between
SCM and development to the desired process
Migrate applications from other SCM solutions to ClearCase/ClearQuest.
Strong familiarity with Rational ClearCase / ClearQuest / UCM experience with other version-control systems is desirable.
Expertise in process automation and tool development.
Unix system administration experience is desirable.
Working knowledge of Unix development environments, including Unix shells, make, version control, compilers, interpreters.

DESIRED SKILLS:
Linux/Unix system administration experience.
Proficient in Perl; other technologies, such as web/CGI, other scripting
languages, are desirable.
Scripting in ClearCase and ClearQuest.
Automated build processes

Required Skills:
Specific requirements that will be required include:

3 or more years experience in SCM, including version control, branch management strategies, release and merge planning.
Excellent communication skills; work collaboratively on small teams.
Works independently; focuses on completion of objectives.
