At Volvo Engineering you will be a key contributor to the next generation of outstanding luxury BEV vehicles from Volvo Cars. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people.

Electric Driveline & Hybrid is responsible for the development of electric drivelines, this includes electric motors, transmissions, driveshafts and mounts as well as combustion engines, transmissions and installation system. The department is about 180 employees globally. Our strategy is to design and develop inhouse electric axles for our BEV vehicles and be leaders in efficiency, cost and sustainability and to maintain and improve our current and future plug-in and mild hybrid products.

Electric Driveline is organized in sections, and we are looking for Section Managers for the following.
* Program & System Engineering is a section consisting of about 30 people, you will have 5 department project leaders and two engineering managers reporting to you. The section is responsible for the project coordination on department level and for industrializing our electric drive units as well as our concept and system engineering.
* Electric Driveline Design consists of 4 Engineering managers reporting to you, the section will be about 75 persons. The section is responsible for the design of electric machine and transmission.


What you'll do

In the role of the Section Manager, you will have the operational responsibility to ensure product and technical execution and deliveries from your section.  You will have personnel responsibility and build an empowered and efficient leadership team and organization. You will have the financial responsibility for your operations and the associate decision mandate. You will secure efficient utilization of resources and continuously improve ways of working for your area and the department. You ensure cross-functional collaboration with all key stakeholders  and represent the section internally and externally.

In these interesting and challenging roles, you will be part of the management team in electric driveline & hybrid, with the possibility to contribute and drive our future products and ways of working to be leading in sustainable drivelines. You will have the possibility to grow and develop your competences and skills in a continuously growing field. You will have a direct influence on the BEV customer satisfaction.

What you'll bring

You have about 7 years of people management and leadership skills. You also have documented experience in development of electric drivelines, as well as design and development phases within electric drivelines. You have a university degree M.Sc. within Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar, and are fluent in English (written and spoken).
