Belonging to the same organisation within Scania IT handling data lake, analytics and information management, the Business Intelligence (BI) group works with development and maintenance of BI applications for Scania globally. The area is of strategic importance for Scania and large investments are made to facilitate our work within BI and analytics. We work with all units and processes within Scania which is very rewarding, our staff gets a strong understanding of Scania's business. 

We are around 40 people in Södertälje and have further resources available offshore. The group consists of developers (data warehouse and BI), Maintenance managers, requirement analysts and project managers working with the latest agile methods. We are eager to get more people on-board to help the customers within Scania take fact-based data-driven decisions through the use of modern BI solutions!



The role:

As a senior developer in our team you will work with developing solutions that comes from new business initiatives and requirements as well as migration projects, where we move legacy solutions to the next generation self-service BI architecture. The projects are run in agile teams setup, including competencies from information management, data warehouse, data lake and BI. You will also spend time spread awareness and possibilities of Self Service BI through out the organization. Scania is on a journey to become ‘data-driven’ and enable ‘Self-Service Business Intelligence’. You will lead this, already started, journey for Scania together with the BI group here in Södertälje and in collaboration with BI groups in Europe and Latin America. You’ll coach Data Analysts and business people enabling them to satisfy their BI needs.

Your contacts will be both with business users of the applications as well as internally at Scania IT.


Skills and Experience:


• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in databases and data modelling 5-10 years
• ETL, data modelling, Report creation.
• Power BI/Tabular – DAX/SSAS
• Solid T-SQL knowledge (Stored Procedures)
• Ability to translate business needs into IT related solutions
• Hadoop, Oracle ODI and previous experience of agile methods is a big plus
