Senior Category Buyer – Body Stamping and Raw Material

Do you want to work with market leading suppliers in a complex area, with components having a big impact on the final product? Body Stamping and Raw Material team is now looking for a Senior Category Buyer.
In this role, you will have a chance to make a real difference both within Volvo Cars, and to our planet and society by working through the whole value chain and leading activities related to sustainability.
Body Stamping and Raw Material is a part of vehicle structure team with responsibility for all components related to the Body of our products.
You will be part of a dynamic team of 15 buyers supporting each other to reach our business objectives. You will be responsible for the strategy, sourcing, and sustainability discussions of raw material, a segment with large spend and strategic suppliers. 
You will also have the global lead for the category team meaning that you will lead and coordinate the global activities in the body and stamping team.
In this broad and interesting role, you will be responsible to secure supply and deliver cost efficiency and additional value in sourcing programs. You will participate in the development and execution of Commodity Business Plans. You will be working in a team with the aim to have a clear view on the Global business demands as well as supplier market.

What you’ll do

You will have a total cost approach by delivering cost savings, cash flow and added-value improvements, anchor and execute Commodity Business Plans, e.g. identifying and leading key programs to achieve cost saving targets and setting supplier base portfolio, based on market and business needs.

     You will also:
-    Lead commercial and contractual negotiation with suppliers within the area.
-    Together with Stakeholders prepare and effectuate RFI/RFQ within the area. Have the sourcing responsibility for this segment and take a holistic business approach which includes Cost, Quality, Delivery, Feature, Strategy and Sustainability. 
-    Conduct market-, supplier- and spend analysis to be on top of the area and be able to perform strategic sourcing initiatives.
-    Contribute to the teams Sustainability targets
-    Manage the supplier relationship with leading supplier within the segment. 

 Do you fit the profile?

We believe you have a University degree in relevant area and minimum 3 years of relevant work experience preferably from purchasing/procurement.
You possess negotiation skills and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and also have the ability to handle many issues/projects in parallel. You are of course fluent in English (written and spoken) with great communication skills in general. International experience is preferred.

To be successful in the role you need to have a business mind-set, with a high integrity and professionalism.
You are performance driven with great communication and excellent cooperation skills.
You enjoy working co-operatively in teams as well as independently driving and completing tasks with a positive mindset.
