Senior Design Engineer Propulsion Battery development

Do you want to be in the centre of driving the shift towards sustainable transports? Are you looking for a role where you can influence the design of tomorrow's electrified transport system? We are now looking for an experienced engineer with a knowledge in mechanical or electromechanical design who is also driven to contribute to our challenge to develop the future battery platform for Scania and the TRATON Group.

Assignment

Your job is to work close together in our team to design the necessary components to integrate cells into modules and modules into packs. This means designing and specifying plastic and sheet metal components as well as insulation materials, adhesives and electronic interface parts in order to guarantee a robust and safe battery system. In our team we focus on solving problems together combining our competences to create the best solutions balancing requirements on safety, performance, quality and cost.

Your tasks include:


• Designing components in CATIA based on specifications, simulations and know-how
• Handle issues such as mechanical strength, thermal management and integration of electrical components
• Working with cross-functions for procuring, installing, simulations, testing, production and service
• Representing your components in the requirement balancing for the complete system
• Affecting road map and future development within your component area

This position involves not only collaboration with your colleagues within the group but also the entire VW Group through wide collaboration with other brands.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is curious, likes working with technology and takes an interest in finding clever and robust solutions. You are able to work independently in finding the necessary facts but never hesitate in requesting help, sharing and discussing ideas with your colleagues. You have at least 5 years experience in working with component design and you are not afraid to challenge yourself and are inspired by working in a rapidly moving field.

You are able to work in both Swedish and English and previous working experience within automotive or similar business area is a requirement. Other merits include working with automotive electronics and within an agile development environment. Experience working with CAD is a requirement and specifically CATIA V5 is meriting.
